Can transformer convert AC to DC?

Answer :

No. A transformer cannot convert AC to DC. It can only transform AC power from its primary side to the secondary. However it can step up or step down the primary to secondary voltages. But the output power will always be lesser than input  power in case of an actual transformer.
On the other hand a converter (specifically a rectifier) can convert AC  power to DC power

For the working of the transformer there has to be alternating current, only then an emf is induced and the transformer can step up or step down the voltage.
So it can be said that input given to it is AC and the output obtained is also AC. DC never plays a role in case of transformers.

No bro, we used rectifier to convert ac power in to DC power. And in case of transformer it purely work on ac it can't be work on DC,  if we do so it will be heat dengorously and burn out.

If we want a DC supply we can use a rectifier converts AC into DC supply at the output of transformer
